🔐 Understanding Wallets on Lunor

Lunor has 2 types of Wallets. In this document we will understand purpose of each wallet type.

Lunor is a Web3-native platform, meaning that many important actions—like submitting models, joining quests, or redeeming rewards—are recorded and verified on the blockchain.

To make these interactions possible, wallets are required to sign blockchain transactions and verify your identity.

But here’s the good news: you don’t need to be a Web3 expert to use Lunor. We’ve made the wallet experience as smooth as possible.

🧭 Two Types of Wallets on Lunor

We use two different types of wallets to separate user experience from fund custody:

1️⃣ Lunor In-App Wallet

If you sign up using Google, Discord, GitHub, or any other social login, Lunor automatically creates a Lunor Wallet in the background.

This is powered by ReOwn Protocol’s AppKit, which creates a secure crypto wallet and links it to your social profile.

✅ Key Features:

  • No setup required

  • Tied to your social account

  • Auto-created by Lunor

  • Used only for signing on-chain actions, including:

    • Logging in

    • Joining Quests

    • Submitting models or data

    • Redeeming or purchasing Gems

  • Not used to hold or receive crypto

  • Not visible or accessible directly

Think of this like your on-chain passport inside Lunor — you don’t need to manage it, but it helps you travel across the Lunor ecosystem securely.

2️⃣ Payment Wallet

To receive rewards and payouts for participating in quests, you need to add your own crypto wallet. We call this your Payment Wallet.

💸 Key Features:

  • Fully controlled by you

  • Lunor has no access

  • Used only to receive crypto rewards

  • Supports standard wallets like MetaMask, Phantom, Coinbase Wallet, etc.

  • You can update it anytime in your account settings

🔄 What If I Log In Using My Own Wallet?

If you log in directly with your crypto wallet (e.g., MetaMask), Lunor does not create a separate Lunor Wallet for you. Your wallet becomes your primary identity and is used to sign all blockchain actions.

🚀 TL;DR

  • Lunor creates a wallet for you if you sign in with a social account. You don’t need to manage it.

  • To get paid in crypto, you’ll need to add your own payment wallet.

  • If you use your own wallet to log in, you’re good to go—no additional wallet is created.
